Creativity lives in everyone

I used to believe that my creative ideas weren’t good enough. I compared what I made to others and told myself I would never be as creative as they were. Does this sound familiar? Over time I realized something important - creativity is not about perfection or comparison. It’s messy and personal. And it’s a skill that everyone can nurture and develop.

That realization led me to create The Maker’s Spark. I wanted a way to encourage myself and others to explore creativity without pressure, judgment, or limits. Creativity does not belong only to a few elite artists. It belongs to all of us. Whether you are a quilter, painter, scrapbooker, crocheter (and the list goes on…), or simply curious to try something new, your creative spark is waiting for you.

To make that journey easier, I designed the Spark Deck, a set of creativity prompts, a simple but powerful tool to jumpstart your imagination. Each card offers a new way to look at your materials, your craft, or even the world around you. The prompts are for everyone, whether you’re a beginner who wants a place to start or an experienced maker searching for fresh inspiration. It’s even appropriate for kids who want to play and explore their creativity.

And this is just the beginning. Alongside the Spark Deck, I share articles and reflections on the blog with ideas, techniques, and inspiration to help you nurture your creativity. My hope is to build more than just a resource. I want to grow a community where ideas can be shared, creativity can be celebrated, and every maker feels encouraged continue their personal creative journey.

The Maker’s Spark is here to remind you that every idea has value and every maker has a spark worth igniting.
